Clothes

Mariouche Gagné is one of the best-known designers with her Harricana collection. Mittens, hats, jackets, handbags, stoles, gloves and vests in recycled fur are prominently featured. Her slogan is “Made from your mother’s old coat”. Myco Anna makes clothes, accessories (hats, scarves, gloves) as well as duvet covers from recycled clothing. The audacious use of colour in her collections is simply captivating.

For the younger generation, Laïla B features clothes and fashion accessories, made with 80% to 100% recovered material, for girls aged 4 to 16. Interestingly, the origin of the clothing before it was transformed is indicated on the label. The Dicha collection presents exclusive children’s clothing and bedding made from fabric and clothes that are recycled and handpainted.

Jewellery

Created by Québec artisan Katia Gitkow, the Ada-Jito collection features necklaces and earrings made from recovered buttons and copper wires. Each piece is unique… and eco-friendly!

Okzoo’s bracelets, rings and earrings are made from recycled plastic bags. White shopping bags form the base while words and colours from other recovered bags are added on.

For something out of the ordinary, necklaces, earrings, brooches and hairclips from Bijoutia collection’s Recup’ère line are all the rage. In fact, drawer knobs, pearls and spoons are used to create a necklace while chandelier pieces become a charm bracelet!

Accessories

Atelier Entre-Peaux specializes in the recovery of advertising materials. Its “Déco-écolo” line features practical products such as notebooks, mouse pads, placemats and coasters as well as highly original totes and handbags.

Atelier Scrap makes bags from banners used to promote events on the city’s streetlights. The bags are sturdy and waterproof and each design is different! Masacoche makes handbags from jeans, fur, belts or old buttons. Each one is unique in the choice of fabric and design.

Lastly, Rachel F. features recycled leather and fur accessories. The silkscreen prints that adorn the pieces are created by the city’s different visual artists who put a little Montréal spark in each and every accessory. Hats, earrings, brooches and handbags… every item is a unique piece of art that is easy to wear.
