The World Choral Festival came to life through the vision of its creator, Gregory Charles, and through the growing popularity of a very dynamic art and leisure form in Quebec and in Laval, in particular: choral singing in all its forms. Since today, it is considered to be the largest gathering of choirs and vocal groups in all of America, the event has made it possible for Laval to proclaim itself the World Capital of Choral Singing in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.
